Windows 7 Ultimate freeze

I don't even how to start .. About 5 or 6 days ago I've installed Windows 7 Ultimate x32 and in the first day, it all went smooth. The next day, however, hell broke loose. At random points, windows freezes and I have to force shutdown it. Or the taskbar/explorer/my computer/etc. simply stops working and after a while, they start working again, at random points it won't let me open WinRAR files (for example) saying something like: "cannot create more threads in the system" or "you don't have the right - I am the administrator, no other account on the computer, or if I'm playing something, the game freezes for about a minute and starts working again (or it simply freezes for good) and so on. After force shutting it down, after the reboot I get the "Windows has recovered etc. etc." and it says something about a BSOD .. I've attached the minidumps but that's pretty much it, I don't know what else to tell.

update: tried opening a picture, got the following error: server execution failed !

Please help !

Hi,

It's a hardware issue. First step to troubleshoot is ensuring your bios is latest from the manufacturer. So, update that and let us know if your issues persist or if they seem to have been alleviated.

Research for correct settings inside the bios for your motherboard. Perhaps it is set wrong. Check about your memory modules and what voltage VDIMM and/or timings they should be set for. Adjust bios accordingly. Check that HDD are set properly and are allowed 32 bit access if there's such a setting.

Will try, what I don't understand is the fact that Windows Vista Ultimate never had these problems. I didn't change any hardware so this is really confusing. Thanks for the reply !

PS: Another thing - in the basic info about my computer, I came across this: Processor: Not Available; RAM: Not Available

update: latest bios (PhoenixBios, V1.33 for this particular Acer) but in this certain bios I can't change anything. Can't change the voltage, no motherboard options, nothing. I can change from what should the PC boot from but that's about it. And about the hardware, I did make a change by adding a new hdd but never used it till recent. Could that be the problem ? Still, no hdd options in bios so what should I do ?

Tried to install the driver, got a notification that the driver might not have installed correctly (it's the latest one from the Acer website), installed using recommended settings, rebooted and now in the basic info the processor and RAM seem to appear. Guess I'll wait for the next error.

I think Antman has lead you well here. Yes, please let us know how it's going by keeping us updated.

You can check driver versions and date by using the device manager. You could also install individual items this way too.

Cool.

So yeah, after a quiet period, the error "cannot creat more threads in the system" appeared, with all the chipset drivers and all that. I've installed the vista driver, seemed to work but not anymore. Now what do I do ?
