Hey All,

So let me give you the run down of what I am trying to accomplish.
I have to go away for a week or so, and wanted to bring my Computer with me. Since, my computer is a desktop I purchased an External Hard Drive Enclosure (Link: Newegg.com - SilverStone TS07B Aluminum / Plastic 3.5" Black USB 3.0 Tool-less Design External Enclosure). I installed my Hard Drive (Seagate 1 TB 7200 RPM HDD 6.0 SATA), in it. I then, proceded to do a "Test Boot." I booted off of it and the Computer Restarted. I tried again, it crashed and Restarted. I tried it on another computer I had and it flashed a BSOD for .2 seconds.

I plugged it back into the actual computer via SATA and it worked fine.

Help, would be greatly appreciated

The crash is likely due to different hardware (using the USB controller rather than the SATA controller)

Booting from USB with Win7 is a very complicated affair - I'd suggest just taking your data with you and using the USB adapter for that purpose. If you must boot from USB, please research the available "workarounds" by searching with Google/Bing.

If you want to take your computer with you, look into the Windows To Go feature available in Windows 8. It's easy to setup, but still has some glitches (hardware support and Windows Updates).
