By default, when a Windows 7 computer is locked, to unlock the computer, it is necessary to click username of the logged on session and then enter the user's password.

Is there a configuration adjustment (preferably in Group Policy) that can be implemented so that it is not necessary to click the username first before entering the user's password. Alternatively, entering a shortcut on the keyboard would be sufficient.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Turning on secure logon may be what you are asking for. To enable it:

-Click Start, in the search box enter secpol.msc
-Select Local Policies
-Select Security Options

Find the following entry:

-Interactive Logon: Do not require CTRLl+ALT+DEL. Set this to disabled.

This should produce a screen that displays the logged in user, and a password box.

Edit: The hotkey combination would then be Control+Alt+Delete to unlock the system.

Let me know if this is what you were looking for. Best of luck!
