I lost track of this problem :(
You're unable to delete this subkey/value still, correct?
I'll put another shout out in a different direction and see if I can get someone else to assist me in this.

Let's have a look at it again.
Open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following commands...

Code:
REG EXPORT "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SideBySide\Winners\amd64_microsoft-windows-kerberos-adm_31bf3856ad364e35_none_5c31f57aa4e48c0a" "%userprofile%\Desktop\kerb.reg"

REG DELETE "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SideBySide\Winners\amd64_microsoft-windows-kerberos-adm_31bf3856ad364e35_none_5c31f57aa4e48c0a\6.9"

.

This will put a file on your desktop - Kerb.reg - please zip it and upload it.
The second command may well fail, so please post the exact error message so I can try and work out the best workaround.

Yeah - there's almost certainly corruption present :(

I think the only way we're going to get at this is to copy the hive from a Repair environment boot, then work on the copy.
The problem here is that there's sensitive information in this hive - so it's not good to post it in a public forum.

If you're happy for me to work on it, then please follow the instructions below. If not, then all I can recommend is a repair install.

Please reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
Type the following commands

DIR C:\Windows\System32\config\SOFTWARE
DIR D:\Windows\System32\config\SOFTWARE
DIR E:\Windows\System32\config\SOFTWARE

One of those should give a positive response - the others will fail.

Using the proper drive letter that worked above, run the following command...

COPY <drive>:\Windows\System32\config\SOFTWARE <drive>:\Windows\System32\config\OLDSOFT

Now reboot to Normal Windows and compress the C:\Windows\System32\config\OLDSOFT file, and upload it to a fileshare site - then send a link to it to me in a Personal Message through the forum - this means that only I will see the link, so it should be safe enough for the time it's up there.
Once I've downloaded it, I'll let you know so you can remove the upload, just in case.

Hi Noel,
I'm trying to copy out the file, but I can't find the location? The file is located in X:\windows\system32\config, but when I run your copy to oldsoft, it doesn't appear in the same folder? Is there something I'm doing wrong?

The file in X:\ is not accessible - it's created on-the-fly by the Repair Environment and cannot be altered.
That's why I gave the precise instructions that I did.
Please follow them.

I did initially. C and D don't exist, E wasn't accessible. I'll try once more...

edit: Ah-ha! It works. I must've been doing that before the morning coffee. I'll pm you when i'm done with the balance of the instructions

please also try F: and G: (I can't think of any sensible layout that would need to go higher than that!)

Sorry about that - I'm having a few problems myself at the moment (diagnosed with cataracts, and can't sit at the PC for too long :( )

I seem to have managed to lose the file somewhere (dunno how!) - can you upload it again?
