I have windows 10 pro x64 on my laptop and I am using VMware workstation 11 with windows 7 pro x64 installed on it.

My problem is windows update will not work on the VM, at first it would just say checking for updates forever and not find any, i turned off the windows firewall on my main OS windows 10, and the VM's win 7 firewall it then found all the updates but it just gets stuck at 0% downloading I let it sit there for a whole day it never downloaded anything.

I went through the ridiculous process of resetting windows update it didn't work. I ran the windows update troubleshooter tool also didn't work, I tried my schools internet connection still didn't work.

Windows update troubleshooter threw this error if it helps: 0x80070057

I would appreciate any suggestions, Im about to start my windows 7 course so I would like my win 7 VM to be up to date.

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file
