Hi all,

Is it possible to password for Windows 7 wallpaper?Want to password for wallpaper to avoid someone to change the wallpaper?Is it possible?

you need to use the group policy editor - it won't password protect, but will make it difficult to change by somebody with limited skills.

type gpedit.msc into the search-box at the bottom of the start-menu.

this should bring up the group policy editor, and look at attached picture below.

Set up a separate user account (not admin account) for your problem user.

Learn to use WIN L key combo when you walk away from computer.

WIN is the key with wavy flag.

As Mickey mentioned, you can use group policy in the tutorial below to specify a default desktop background, and prevent it from being able to be changed by all users.

The tutorial links above also have options to do it via REG file download or manually in Registry Editor for those that do not have gpedit.msc included in their Windows 7 edition.

Win + L is used heavily by those who frequent coffee shops and need to walk away from their computer for a minute or in an office environment where one must walk away and doesn't want to leave the PC "wide open".
