hello all,
i have a pretty new computer that i build before i moved cross country. the comp has a 3.4ghz proccessor, 6 gbs of ram and a heavy duty videocard. befroe i left it was giving me a cpu fan error but beyond that it would load up windows 7 fine but once i tried to boot it up now it will either freeze on the windows logo before bsod or it will get to "preparing to startup before first use" and then restart the whole comp.

i have tried reinstalling windows several times, even tried working off of another harddrive that already had windows 7 loaded on it and it still did the same thing. what could this be? i really hope that i dont have to replace components already cause while i bought it a while ago it is still unused. i would hate to think the transit messed it up that bad.

Unplug everything and re-plug it back in. I travelled from El Paso, TX to Southeastern CT several years ago with a couple of PC's. All but one made it without troubles - re-plugging everything on the broken one fixed it right up!

thanks but I tried that. I've tried different video card, different motherboard, different harddrive and nothing seems to help.

I hope you are trying to use original Microsoft DVD for installation and not some tampered one. You can also try to use some USB Drive to install. Also check if you have some hardwre plugged in which is not compatible with windows 7.
