Windows 7 won't install SP1

I'm having problems installing SP1 on windows 7 professional.Each time I try it fails, and so I have followed the Update Posting Instructions:

1 SURT - I downloaded this, ran it to completion and no problems.
2 SFC Scan - I ran this and again no problems reported
3 Error Codes - See attached
4 Log Collection - I followed the instructions on this, but the resultant CBS.zip file is 22.7 MB and won't upload as it is bigger than 8 MB

Any assistance would be most welcome please.

Delete the older CBSPersist files from the zip archive until the resulting file is less than 8MB, and post it then

There are no problems in either SFC or CheckSUR logs.
I can't see anything informative in the background CBS data

Open Event Viewer
click on the Windows logs entry in the left pane to expand it.
Now click on the Application entry - wait while it loads.
Click on 'File' in the menu bar and select Save...
Save the file as Appevt.evtx
Repeat for the System log
then zip both, and upload them.

Outlook really objects to your Kaspersky add-on!

I hate to say it, but the only reliable way of fixing this error code seems to be a repair install of Windows
Do you have access to a Retail or System Builder Windows Home Premium with SP1 disk?
If so, follow the instructions here...

Thanks again for that Noel, and apologies for the tardy response.

I'd fiddled with various things on the comp. and tried another update. It got to 99% install, and then failed, so no change there.

I don't mind doing a repair install, but have a problem in as much as I only have access to a Win7 64bit Professional Retail disk including SP1. However, I have come up against a brick wall trying to get a copy of an ISO copy without SP1, as Digital River etc. no longer supply them. Do you have any suggestions, as to an alternative course?
BTW this is for my laptop and not my listed m/c.

Also I note that you refer to the Kaspersky/Office 'objection', does anything need to be done about that?

I always thought that you could do an Upgrade/Repair install with an SP1 disk whether or not the current install had SP1 installed or not - it's worth a try anyhow, as it would only bomb out gracefully if it's not going to work.
I'd certainly uninstall Kaspersky prior to attempting a repair anyhow - you can reinstall it afterwards (which may fix the Outlook problem.)

Hi again Noel; I've just tried it again, and it's clearly saying that to do a repair install then you need to be running within an SP1 installation.
Do you have any other ideas other than a clean reinstall?

Not unless you can get hold of an RTM disk for any 64-bit version of Windows 7 (the only difference is the ei.cfg file, which can be replaced/deleted if you either copy the disk, or use a USB install)
