Windows 7 won't load until I press a key

Sony viao pcg21313m.. I just installed a fresh copy of win 7 starter addition. All is well all the drivers have been installed and are working fine.. The issue is after the win 7 loading screen dissappears at boot up I get a black screen, the netbook will now not do anything until I press a key usually I press the up arrow. As soon as I do that the hard drive light flickers and windows loads up straight away and quickly as well. This happens just before the login screen to make that clear

Also if the netbook shuts down improperly you get the standard screen that has 2 options
start windows normally
or start windows repair
At this screen the key board doesn't work so I'm unable to choose any option. I then have to wait for the timer to tick away however the keyboard does allow me to enter bios by pressing F2 before that screen appears.
