Hi,

My laptop installed some updates last night and restarted, this morning I was using it, it froze so I switched off and back on again, and since then it hasn't got past the loading screen.

I tried a system repair which didn't work at all. The first time it finished but it still wouldn't load, the second time it attempted a disk repair which didn't work, and the third time it gave up and asked me to send more info to Microsoft.

I tried Last Known Good Configuration too, but that hasn't got past the loading screen either.

I can get into Safe Mode, and I've tried a system restore to last week, but it's been attempting that for the last half hour. It currently says "System Restore is initializing"...

Any idea on how long it should take and what else I could attempt if it doesn't work? I don't have a Windows 7 disk, my laptop came with Windows 7 already installed.

Thanks,

Lewis

Ok, an update: I phoned Microsoft to see how to go about doing a clean reinstall, they told me to call Lenovo instead. At first it seemed like a faulty hard drive, but I got the Novo menu up and have gone back to the initial restore, which I probably should've done a while ago anyway :) Back on Windows now!
