windows 7 wont start with 4gb of ram

well i had 4gb or ram thats the max my mother baord can handle but windows wont load with the 4gb so i changed them arodun and took 1 stick out and windows start so i took another one out and put the old one back in and it started so its not the stick they are all the same but windows just dosent seem to wanna load up with them any idears

Bios update maybe, or settings in the bios?

Try setting the timings manually in the bios and also make sure its set to 2T command. If that doesn't work see if a little more ram voltage helps
