Is it my imagination or is this 7137 slower than the previous builds?
I've used every build since 7000 and this is the first time I have noticed this. Installing Microsoft Office seemed slow, booting up seems slow (like Vista). I'm sure I'm not imagining this.

I haven't noticed any slow down, but 7137 seems to have a lot of quirks. I don't know what they changed, but every day I run into little windows redraw errors or random lockups. (My system is nearly the same specs as yours FYIW)

If we notice things with our systems then users with older slower systems should 'really' notice it! Just glad that this is not the release version. Although it isn't THAT bad. It's just noticable and irritating.

I'm using build 7137 since 4 days ago and I'm not having the problems you've mentioned before.
The unique thing I've noticed is the internal H.264 codec issue with nVIDIA Graphics cards that I've solved using other codec (using K-Lite Mega Codec Pack).
I'm using Windows 7 since early build 6801 and my system is running even faster and less "buggy" than builds 7127, 7100, 7077, 7057, 7022, etc....
I don't know if it's because my system specs, but I've installed this build in another 2 more PCs (in fact, one is a PC and the oter one is a notebook) with totally different hardware specs and everything is working good, without problems. :)
Let's wait if somebody got the same problems that you're having, guys.

Well bizzare. Although I'm pleased to hear that yours are okay.

Boot up time is definitely longer than I've ever had with Windows 7, almost as bad as Vista. Everything seems to run okay. No crashes bsods etc. But nowhere near as fast as the previous builds. Always installed fresh too, in case you were wondering.

I have now noticed others on here that have had issues with 7137. Some saying that they have gone back to using previous builds. To be honest, I don't really want to do that. After all, the whole purpose of installing all these is for testing out and not really meant for a main OS. Not until it's released anyway. I'm just a little worried that as we approach that launch day, things will start to become 'bloated' again like Vista. If that happens, I will stay with Vista, or of course go back to XP!

Don't be so mean with Microsoft! :p
The problems mentioned in other parts of this forums are aislated problems with specific hardware & software configurations. The better way to test new builds is on a clean formatted partition. That ensures you that the OS will work fast and smoothly and avoids possible software problems carried from previous installed software.
If your problem is hardware-related, so you've to search yourself to fix it up. For example, I had a problem that I posted in this forums just 2 or 3 days ago related to my nVIDIA graphics card. It's just a bug related with the H.264 codec provided by Microsoft (like I mentioned before). But you can't blame Microsoft for that 'cause nVIDIA (in this example) is involved in this issue too. Also, lots of people remember the same issue with nVIDIA graphic cards one or two years ago when Vista went out (the NVLDDMKM.DLL one). More than a Microsoft's problem seems to be a nVIDIA's problem.
My point is that it's not the OS' fault all the time and also I think it's still very soon to know what will be the resulting OS after all this testing period.
Just let's leave it to the time... and the developers. :p

I haven't noticed any slowness at all. The nVidia/7 h.264 codec issue is very aggervating, can't run my high end cards without making changes.

Oh... I remember your problem from the other thread. I thought you got it solved.
Did you tryed reinstalling Windows 7? And installing from USB? It's safer than reinstalling from DVD. :)
