Solved Windows Activation - Status not available error 0x80070002

Suddenly started getting "Windows not Genuine" message with "Windows Activation - Status not available" and "Product ID not available".
Running slui.exe 3 with valid key gives error 0x80070002.
CHKDSK and src /scannow ran.
Computer Management shows SPPSVC set to Delayed Start but starting service manually gives "Error 2 cannot find the file specified.
