Recently in the past few days windows aero decides to turn off. I can re-enable it with the personalization but it seems like a hassle to do all the time. The computer also says that it "exceeded it's allowable memory" or something along those lines.

So my question is this: Why is it doing this and how can I fix it? Also, on a related note, how can I make it so my programs can use more of my available RAM?

Could you tell us your system specs?

My crystal ball is in being repaired.

Have you checked in event viewer?

Type eventvwr in search and go to the windows log>application tab.
Look for errors. Errors have red in the left hand column.

Look for errors that say app hang, or app crash, or anything related to to aero, or lack of memory.

When you find them either take a screenshot of them and upload them to us, or note the event ID and source codes and look them up in google. If you cant find them in google tell us what they are.
