Hi, I was wondering if someone here can help me fix a slight problem. My computer runs 32bit windows 7 with a processor of Dual-core mobile RM-72. The problem is that when working on my computer, most programs and windows start to blink, with each blink having the same effect as a click from the mouse. It also blinks into not responding, going into black or white windows and even making windows appear even if they are minimized. How can I fix it?

Here is a screenshot: http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk220/Regi_King1/blinking.jpg As seen, the msn window blinked into turning into a black screen while paint blinked into not responding. This is very frustrating.

Did you install Windows 7? If so, was it an in-place upgrade, or did you do a clean install? Did you follow any of the install guides that are sticky posts in the installation forum? Where did you get your drivers - did you allow Windows to install default drivers, or did you visit HP and download and install Windows 7 drivers for your model? Has this problem been happening ever since you've had 7 installed, or did it recently start happening (perhaps after you installed/removed/updated some things)?

Try updating your graphics card drivers. I had a similar issue a fews days back that was caused by me "overloading" my system - I was running a DVD/DIVX conversion, running a duplicate image finder on 120,000 images, writing applications in delphi, working in coreldraw on an 800MB file, and some other goodies.

Point is, I killed my graphics driver, and my system slowed to a crawl that made me think I was using a 386 again.

A friend and I did the installation. It was a custom install. This issue started 2 days ago. I had Windows 7 about 3 weeks ago and all was smooth till then. My drivers were already installed after Win 7 finished installing, I did had to install one or 2 from HP. DriverGenius did the driver update around the same time this started to happen. I'ma try and update my drivers, cause the blinking also affects me in browsers. I have to click 3 - 4 times to even be able to submit this post. . .

Hi, try this, go into Device Manager and right click on your Display, and when the option window come's up select Uninstall and click ok, when it has Uninstalled the Display Driver click the button on the top of the Device Manager page that says,
Scan for hardware changes,
let windows reinstall it and see if that helps.

Well apparently this did appear to help, though I'm not 100% convinced it did. If the blinking reappears, I will come back here. Thanks ^^

I was going to say do a "rollback" of the driver, in Device Manager, but sounds like you've fixed it.

The blinking appears to still be on, just not as harsh as before. What else can I do to fix it?

EDIT: just now, when I opened the little music menu that open when clicking the speaker in the toolbar, the music menu appeard in the top left-hand corner instead of appearing just above the toolbar, perhaps an issue having to do with the blinking.

Hi can you do a System Restore to a time before it started happening, just to see if it helps.

Meaning, to before you installed that Driver Genius.

Also go here and download and install everything for your machine that is not up to date,
not just your Graphics card, check Everything.

Yup restoring system did work. Perhaps there was an issue when upgrading drivers. Thanks a lot :D
