Hey all,

Just recently did a clean install of Windows 7 64 on an Asus G75vw-BBk5 after I was getting a black screen and windows failed to boot. Everything is working as expected except I get this annoying Boot Manager message every time I boot...

I physically removed my secondary 1TB HDD and reinstalled windows on my 120gb SSD in the right slot. After installation, I am still getting this message. It may need to be noted that after installation, I also set my User profiles (via Regedit) to be placed inside the secondary HDD (E: Drive) to save space, which is working great but could be a problem if I try to edit that drive in any way.

Thanks for the help!

if you go into your bios, is your main boot drive the ssd drive? It may be trying to boot from the non-boot drive

if that is not the issue, you may need to rebuild your boot configuration data as discussed here

If you didn't remove the HDD from the computer when you installed Win 7 on the SSD it's possible that the UEFI boot loader isn't on the SSD but on the HDD.
I also have a SSD for Win7 and programs and the HDD for data (\Users is on D:, the HDD)

If you want to do it right:
- Detach the HDD leaving on only the SSD.
- Boot from the Win 7 installation disk as UEFI (important).
- Go to install - Advanced - delete all partitions - Create new
- It will create 3 partitions on the SSD:
UEFI - 100M - Fat32
MSR - 120M - RAW
A big NTFS partition
- Choose to install at the NTFS

This is a general guide of Kari tutorial. You will find all needed files on the attached file.
-When it comes to define a user, follow Kari tutorial and enter Audit mode. (CTRL+Shift+F3). It will reboot. Once in audit mode, shut down and attach the HDD.
- Boot from the SSD back to audit mode. You will be in Audit mode as Administrator.
- Launch explorer and rename D:\Users to D:\OldU
- Edit and Rename Relocate - W7??.xml.txt to Relocate.xml and copy it to D:\
- When you're ready, rename sysprep.cmd.txt to sysprep.cmd and Run it

After reboot exit audit mode and proceed with final win 7 installation.
When you finish, Win 7 and programs will be on the SSD and the \Users will be on the HDD.
Move your data from D:\OldU\<name> to D:\Users<name>
