Good day,

I installed this software on the same day I built the system, love it and there have been no issues.

About an hour ago as I was logging off my favorite Game (wow) I noticed that my taskbar color changed on it's own, from black to Silver - highly annoying.

I have been fiddling around with it by reading the forums and other forums and the options listed in every thread I have found are not here for me.

I cannot show a picture because I don't know how to show you one. I do not have office. But if I could describe it:

The window borders when I open a web page or play a game in "windows mode", the top and bottom bottom bars were dark, black...now they are annoying blue and silver (in the classic windows style).

I did not initiate these changes.

What I have done:

rebooted

Right click on desktop> personalize> Window Color and of all the choices on the drop down menu to the left where I can select "desktop" or "tool tip" or Window" - none work.

So now I open WoW or any web page and I have the ugly blue color on top and classic gray on bottom. Please help me...this stuff is burning my retinas.

I understand one used to be able to "change glass colors" but no more, why?

Thank you in advance

It sounds like your system has swtched to the classic theme. Can you look and see if you can reapply your aero theme you were using before?

If no help make sure DWM.exe is running in Task Manager Ctrl+Shift+Esc

Also make sure that Desktop Window Manager Session Manager is Started in services?

When Windows thinks it is low on resources, or is running certain applications, it will switch to the basic theme. It will usually return on the next reboot, so it is strange it did not for you. Oh well, as long as you are back to normal ;)
