Greetings everyone!

Decided to register here because I've been researching this issue for a few days but none of the similar threads has information that helped me solve my problem. Here, I will leave the report:

This computer is a self-built desktop, it was given to me by a friend back in 2013. I haven't really meddled with updates nor the activation process ever since, but I'd really like to buy myself an original key and catch up with any necessary updates, but for that I need to get slui.exe to work. :(

Thanks in advance!

You have this in your log.

Windows Product ID: 00426-OEM-8992662-00400
Windows License Type: OEM SLP
SYSTEM><Manufacturer>ECS

Which means your installation of Windows belongs to a Dell computer.
You have it installed on a Retail ESC aftermarket motherboard.

This installation of Windows 7 is counterfeit.

You need a proper media for Windows 7 and the proper matching COA key.
Then do a Clean Install.

I have no idea where you could purchase original win7 disc and key, at least not on Amazon, Ebay, etc.. They all have OEM for sale.

I wouldn't purchase one of those, you would most likely be throwing away hard earned money, for the reasons pointed out by LayBack Bear.

I doubt if your motherboard would permit any OEM validation.

If you obtain retail win7 from someone, the installation & key may be in use on a computer, and Microsoft wouldn't permit activation of 2nd installation.

You might have some luck (doubtful) searching Craigslist, or similar sites, but you still don't know who your dealing with!

Your best option is upgrade to Windows 10, & purchase valid key from Microsoft.

They are permitting counterfeit, non-genuine installations to upgrade & then purchase license. $119.00 US I believe.

Info on Upgrade non-genuine Win7 to Win10

No one on sevenforums, qualified to provide assistance, should enable circumventing genuine Microsoft installation/validation.

Thanks a lot for your input, both of you!

I am glad to finally know this, at least! I will consider upgrading to Win10 and purchasing a license just to have my computer updating safely and genuinely.

Yet again, thanks for your help. :)

You buy Windows 7 OEM/Builders. That is good for the computer you first install and activate it on.
Many of us that build our own system use OEM Builders.

You just must be careful where you buy it. A lot of counterfeits being sold.
I buy my operating systems from a local store I trust.
