Windows couldn't automatically bind IP protocol stack to network

Question2

New member
After I installed the latest drivers for my Netgear A6210 USB wifi adapter, I noticed that my computer would have trouble connecting to all wifi networks after I startup the computer (either from shutdown or from hibernate).

Windows diagnostics simply says :

Windows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter.

But offers no solutions and cannot fix it. Sometimes disabling/re-enabling the network adapter will help fix it, but when this happened after hibernating, I couldnt fix it that way.

Rolling back to a previous driver version isnt really a solution as this version fixes a packet loss issue with the previous versions.

Netgear apparently only offers tech support for 90 days after purchase, so i cant get tech support from them.

Any ideas on how to figure out why widows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack?

In the properties for the adapter, uncheck the box saying 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. I have the same adapter and this fixed issues I was having.

Open an Administrative command prompt. Type ipconfig /all press Enter This may help to figure out why it won't connect. :) 5.1.29.0 is my current driver.

Just tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest drivers again.

Couldnt connect to any wifi networks after, same error. ipconfig /all didnt even show any wireless adapters. After disabling/enabling the device and waiting for a while, it was able to connect to wifi networks normally.

The problem is that every time i startup the computer, it wont be able to connect to any wifi networks for a while till i disable/enable the device and wait a while.

Try this in administrator command prompt... netsh winsock reset

Then check this...

Control Panel > Administration Tools > Computer Management > Services & Applications > Services.

Scroll down this list to find 'WLAN Auto Config'

Double click on 'WLAN Auto Config' On the general tab, select from the start up type drop down menu, select 'Automatic'. Under Service Status click on 'Start'. Then 'Apply' these settings and exit from all open control panel windows.

This should then allow Windows to set the required bindings.

I will try the winsock reset thig...but wlan auto config is always set to automatic/started as it is.

Whats the issue with not being able to bind the IP protocol stack anyway?
