Hello evryone,

I would like to start by thanking the people who read this in an attempt to help and excuse me for grammer or language faults.

I have been running my computer for about four years where i made a clean instal about one year ago and it was all running great. Then all of the sudden two weeks ago my computer began crashing giving black screen, but no BSOD. This resulted in myself trying to fix it by doing a new clean instal, resetting my HDD's, renewing the battery on my motherboard. i tried updating drivers and such but nothing really seems to work.
The strange thing is that yesterday i could run my pc the entire day, but when at the end of the day i tried to shut it down the computer froze. No picture no sound and no responce what so ever just like reguler. The weird thing that i see is that the fans and lights keep working. Pressing the shift five times doesn't give a sound and when it normaly freezes the music and evrything stops.

Hope anyone can help me and thanks for reading,

Kind regards, Christian

Edit: The computer runs without any problems in windows safe mode with network capabilitys and thus my posibility for posting this, If i missed info or need to do thing plz tell me,
Again kind regards, Christian

Christian,
Please give us a current report on the state of your computer.
Now, nearly 24 hours later were you able to start up in a normal manner?

To give you a definitive answer re your problems we do require the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible. .

> Please check to make sure minidumps are enabled:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

> The procedure:

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.
Upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

ATM the computer does not work for more then 1 or 2 minutes in normal mode, i did evrything in the minidumb section and rebooted my computer, first in safe mode and then in normal mode so i would get the crash for the minidumb, but the map minidump is empty...
Information about the sysdm.cpl:

Write an event to the system log --> Yes
Automaticly restart --> No

Write debugging information
Small memory dumo (256 KB)
Small dump derictory
%SystemRoot%\Minidump

Overwrite any existing file --> Yes (extra information i cant uncheck it)

So i was trying to get the minidump file that the procedure told me to, but i cant....
Information about how the system works at the moment:
Normal mode: I cant so anything anymore, if i try to open IE, FireFox, Google Chrome wait 2 minutes or anything at all the computer screens go black and the fans, internal lights keep on, sound stops.
Safe mode: I can do evrything that safe mode can, since some programs dont run i Safe mode i cant use then, but IE and sysdm.cpl do work.

A quick small question about the true problem, do you think its software, or is it the hardware?

Thanks JMH for the help so far, Its much apriciated

The changes to the sysdm.cpl will help when we get you to the point where you can boot. It will create a dmp file that will point us towards the cause of the crashes.

It could be software or hardware (like a dead HD). More likely software.

Since you can boot in safe mode can you check in event viewer to see what is logged there?

There are several ways to find what the problem is. The best is to go into event viewer (type eventvwr in search). Event viewer (local) and look for errors listed in the last day, week, etc. Then go to the windows log>application tab. Finally the windows Logs>system tabs.

You want to look for all errors (they have red in the left column ).

When you find them you want to look for critical errors that say app hang, app crash, or anything that relates to the problem.

When you find them please note the event ID, and the source codes and tell us what they are.

You can upload your event log to a file sharing service like rapidshare, and then put the link in your next post.

The description for Event ID 0 from source SignInAssistant cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

StartService failed with hr = 0x8007043c

Corrupt system. a repair install from dvd would probably fix it.

No i have not. So far my computer is standing still waiting for my HDD's to be testen in an other PC since i honnestly dont know what to do further... It wont boot up atm,

So far i have rules out my PSU (used the one from my brother in law and same thing went wrong)
GPU (full diagnostics during the development of the failing)
RAMM (diagnostic tool via the BIOS said it was running great)

I think since i reinstalled it and the PC failed in the same manner that it is not software, trying to test my pc, but dont know how to test the proccessor (Q6600) or the motherboard (p35c-ds3r)

If you can get into the Windows 7 Installation disc, do the following:
1. Load the disc and turn on/restart the computer
2. Press a key to boot from the DVD
3. When the DVD boots, press Shift + F10 to start a command prompt
4. Find your Windows installation drive by typing the following:
c:
dir
d:
dir
etc. until you find the disk with the Windows directory on it
5. Assuming that disk is c: (just replace c: with whichever letter it actually is)
format c:
6. This will do a full format of the drive and reallocate space to avoid any bad sectors
7. When format completes, http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html
