The Farbar Service Scanner (FSS.tx) did not freeze before, however, all the options did not appear to be checked, since the Windows Update option was not reported.

Make sure the following options are checked:
Internet Services
Windows Firewall
System Restore
Security Center
Windows Update
Windows Defender

...and press: Scan

There are some strange issues on that system that may have been caused by attempts to remove a virus...is that the case?

In the FRST report you PMd, the following are running:

HKLM\...\Run: [Advanced Spyware Remover] => C:\Program Files\IObit\Advanced Spyware Remover\ASRtray.exe [1213952 2009-12-15] (IObit)
This is not a program I would recommend. There may be other members here of the same opinion.

HKLM\...\Run: [AVG_UI] => C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG2015\avgui.exe [3745232 2015-04-15] (AVG Technologies CZ, s.r.o.)
To my understanding, installing AVG2015 disables Windows Defender.

When did you install AVG2015? Was it on 2015-04-15? Is that when your problems with Windows Defender began?

Have you tried restoring the system back to that date, or even later if a Restore Point is available?

system restore I did then my custom themes that made by bongo messed up. As far as the tool the options are not ther.

Try removing the Farbar Service Scanner tool, and then download it again, and run it.
Please post the results.
