Hi, my Toshiba laptop came pre-installed with windows 8 (which i upgraded to 10) on it, since then I have formatted and put Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on it.

Ever since I've gone to 7, there's been something wrong with it when i put it to 'sleep'. First it was blue screens and I was missing some drivers, since then I've found all the drivers and device manager has nothing missing yet i'm still getting the 'Windows Error Recovery' screen every time after resuming from sleeping.

I've attached the information zip file about the computer.

Hope you guys can help!

Hi Rlm42,
You will have to register it via your Uni, and they will give you a different key.
They would never have given you that key, its only installed on factory built machines, and as yours came with W8 you would not have had it on your machine

I appreciate your replies, here is the log. Also my Windows is activated and says that it is when go into system properties. Do you guys think that Microsoft Imagine might have given me a developer/factory key?

Hi Ryan,

NO microsoft would NOT have given you that key
(believe you should have recieved it by Email as it would be unique)

As i said register via your University. use the change product key option in the System GUI
note your system HAS NOT been registered - required for MS Imagine
the link you provided does not have an Ultimate option, (non-signed in obviously)

Been going over your report and logs.
There are somethings that are VERY odd about it

you said it came with W8
according to the report there are no EUFI files but the W8 marker is, there are W7 slic table entries present, this can only be achieved using an exploit within the ACPI sub system (possibly using BCD which you have). Formatting does not alter the Bios.
note ACPI is registering a problem
Updating through the CBS subsystem is also failing

Hey Roy,

I see where you are coming from now.. I just checked my email for the product key and it is something totally different than what the PC is currently using. I downloaded 'Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder' which shows a different key being used..

What is more strange is that I don't have the option in system properties to change the key down the bottom right. I tried changing it using cmd using: slmgr.vbs -ipk <type your product key here> . This gave me an error however.

The laptop did come with W8 upon which I upgraded to 10.. Then bought an SSD and installed that W7 onto it whilst selling the old hdd. The reason i put EasyBCD on it was it was asking me to choose the operating system each time i booted up so i disabled that using EasyBCD.

Hi Ryan,

As i said there are some strange/conflicting data files being reported.
Not sure how you ended up with all that Toshiba bloatware on a clean install.
(doubt very much YOU had Toshiba installation discs).

I also mentioned about Updates, or the lack off!

Your comment re OS choice/BCD points towards a dual boot
(if there both W7 this could be the cause of all your problems)

In your situation i would perform a TOTALLY clean install
Go back to your Uni link download the OS to a USB,
note check that email again it should also detail the version, (Pro? not Ultimate)

Thanks Roy, most of that Toshiba bloatware was me trying to find all of my missing drivers because Toshiba didn't list them themselves.. yeah I've noticed updates haven't been working.

I will try doing a clean install
