I can still get in but unable to find from Start by searching, can get into folders by other routes and when I try to add it back to my toolbar or desktop it keeps saying I need admin permissions or something. Also gos some google update asking for access to my hard drive, never had this before. I don't know what's happening. My computer is a mess right now and I'm busty trying to complete work before I back everything up and reinstall the whole OS.

I tried a while back to get to the bottom of some malware that keeps duplicating files in some internet explorer folder but failed after trying everything, or nearly everything up until the point where I got fed up and decided to just reinstall everything.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on? Did i press a wrong button or something?

The first things I think of when things go crazy are:
1. A registry cleaning programs has been used.
2. Infections have got in your computer.

Could you list what Clean Up, Tune Up ect programs you have used?
Could you also put in your system specs what security programs you have installed?

It's a long story.

Can you bear with me right now please because I have a lot of work to do, I'm busy but looking to just reinstall everything from ground zero soon.

There is no doubt that something bad has infected my computer :-( last time I looked I was getting multiple copies of Master of Puppets by Metallica copied into my hard drive, I mean nearly thousands, and then when I delete them all I wait a few days and then it's the same..

I'm hanging in here but soon as I've secured the deal I'm going for wipeout2097

Now you post something about
I'm hanging in here but soon as I've secured the deal I'm going for wipeout2097
I have no idea what that means concerning your problem.
If you have no doubt that your computer is infected please inform us what security scans you have done to clean up the infections.

I can wait forever, my computers work just fine.

Sorry I know all that was a bit vague. I had a drink last night. What I mean is as soon as I get this work finished I'm wiping the drive back to how it was when I bought it. This thread explains all the anti-malware software I used to try and get to the bottom of things, but nothing seems to have solved the issue of duplicate files filling up my folders in IE which I never use.

http://www.sevenforums.com/system-s...w-locking-up-spam-found-temporary-folder.html

I just wanted to get windows explorer back on my task bar so I don't have to keep going through Start > Computer to get into it. Other weird things that have been happening is when I click on the sound icon to change the volume with my mouse it disappears and i have to drag it back to it's position.

Anyway, if you don't know how I can fix this explorer problem I'll just persevere with things and eventually reinstall everything, that's what the reinstallation disks are for. I think I might have picked up some malware at the start of the year when I downloaded GIMP and things have just never worked the same since.
