Can't tell you what to do to prevent since we don't know what's causing it yet.
Try to start explorer.exe when you hit ctrl-alt-del together, from the task manager. Enter it in file | new task (run). If that doesn't work, can you login to safe mode alright?

here is what i did and the problem still standing
logged in to the safe mode - black screen ..
jump to a restore point 5 days earlier - black screen ..
explorer.exe doesn't exist
it happened before, no weird programs ware installed

Windows is probably corrupted somehow. Best option would be to backup and do a clean install of the RC1.

- I bought it at Frys, the only components I haven't upgraded or replaced are the CPU, mobo, and case.
If you have the DVD boot off of it and perform a repair install....
