Solved Windows Fails to Alert Battery Level and Shuts Down

Windows doesn't alert me of low battery power and the battery dies. It has been happening for the past couple of days now. I have checked the power plan settings and see that is is suppose to warn me at 16% and is suppose to hibernate at 9%. Anyone know what is causing it not to do either?

Hello again Karl, it is actually the same computer I was having trouble of high CPU. It is an HP g6, i3 2.53GHz, 4GB Ram, 500GB HDD.

Alright, when this happens there are a couple of things that can cause it. The battery is dieing, it could be read as 90% seconds later it is dead no time for the OS to alert you. Another reason could be malware interfering with the battery or just plain shutting the computer down. But you should check if the battery is at the end of its rope.

Just wanted to update you, it was a faulty battery. Not only the cells but the circuit board in the battery was bad too. I was able to get it replace under warranty.
