Windows Home Server Install Nightmare... Make it go away!

I have a windows 7 machine, Quad core, 4 GBS of mem, 700 MB drive...

it boots to the DVD perfectly and the installation process begins with WHS, the icon appears and then i get an error message..

" Hard Drive capable of hosting WHS is not found, would you like to load additional
drivers?"

I honestly dont know what to load or install i cant find any HD drivers that are needed, i have updated everything possible and dont know what this machine wants...

i have searched high and low and cant find the answer, please help

Try loading your Sata controller drivers.

If it's not the SATA driver (use the Windows Server 2003 version on a floppy), then it could be that your drive isn't large enough. I'm pretty sure that WHS requires either a 40GB or 80GB hard drive for the system. You said that you have 700MB....that could be the issue.

This is throwing me for a loop. Windows 7 shouldn't be entering the equation. You'll want this to be the only OS present on the system.

As for the drive issue, Server 2003 has specific drivers for the controllers, and if the drive isn't recognized, you'll need to load them.

Another possibility is that if you have other OSes on the computer, WHS may not like the arrangement. If no other OSes are on the computer (recommended), make sure the drive is blank and unformatted before starting the install.
