Windows Live ID issue

Probably not fixable but worth a try. In Windows Live Mail client, I have a hotmail account for the Live ID, sort of. When setting it up on the web, I thought the account name that shows in Windows Live Mail at the top right toolbar would look better as JohnDoe @ hotmail.com. I later noticed where on the Live Mail site that I would have to add the hotmail account to send and receive from the web site or so I thought. Anyway, I apparently added it as johndoe @ hotmail.com. Now when Windows Live Mail client launches, it starts out as JohnDoe @ hotmail.com in the top right toolbar corner and after a few hours it switches to johndoe @ hotmail.com. I can switch between the two ID's from within Windows Live Mail client but am now wondering where the two ID's are stored or is there a way to do away with one and keep the other?

Hi Greg,
I just added my W L ID account to WLM using all upper case (capitals) and it accepted it, normally my address is in Lower Case. Seems an email username is not case sensitive.

OK, thanks. I see what Windows Live Mail client is doing. On startup, it auto signs in as Windows Live ID. Then at some point, it switches in the background to the hotmail account which is the same name, but in lower case. When it swithches to lowercase and while still in the client, I can select view account or profile and it will switch back to the uppercase. Weird. I wish that I had left well enough alone. As mentioned in another topic, I was using my Gmail account as the Live ID. I wanted to add a hotmail account for forwarding mail to as a backup. Long story short, whilst on the Live site, I deleted the Gmail ID without having exported contacts which means I lost them in WLM client. Anywho, I have it set up now and have manually added contacts back, or at least all that I want to add back.

I keep my contacts in my Hotmail account, it gets deleted after signing in and adding my Gmail account. Their is no way I can lose any contacts and all my mail gets archived by Google when accessed in WLM using POP.
