Hi all, hoping you guys can help me fix this problem

I have windows live mail 2012 - tried to manually set up my hotmail account using the IMAP settings on the outlook website but i get this error back;

Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system.Configuration: Account: Email Server: outlook.office365.com User name: (took email out for privacy reasons) Protocol: IMAP Port: 993 Secure(SSL): 1 Code: 800ccc0e

Have tried disabling antivirus firewall etc to no avail. I have 2FA enabled on my email acc so i am entering a app password from MS website whenever its asking me for my email password. I have outlook 2016 installed on another laptop with windows 7 and it works fine... so i copied the same setup for WLM but get this error, weird right? any ideas? thanks!

I think thats only if you want it to sync automatically with the servers without having to enter IMAP/POP settings, if you enter the settings manually it should still work. Lots of people still use WLM for email for previous accounts. I have searched google so much but cant find a fix for this. Was hoping someone here could help

Live Mail was great, wasn't it? But it is way out of support. you can get a great email from Mozilla Thunderbird. It's desktop email and you should have no problem setting it up. I personally use Protonmail, a super-secure web email. I just signed up for 5GB free storage on their Proton Drive. Totally encrypted, very secure. And that is with a free account.
