I am running windows 7 with windows live mail and for some reason i no longer can attach photos nor links as mail. they only show up as a hyperlink not a direct link.
and photos will not send they only stay in the outbox. checking with the Q/A's from windows live mail i can't seem to find a correction.
I made no changes to how my mail is read or sent. this just happened one day.
I checked the settings and the box that says block images and external content in HTML emails is unchecked. and everytime i try to open the email i get a message saying to accept the changes for microsoft mail and chat message. even when i accept the change, it asks again.
Thanks for all your help.
Earl.

Are you using Hotmail (browser based) or Windows Live Mail (the desktop application from the Essentials package)?

Don't understand "microsoft mail" since it's not called that. What is the exact message?

It is Windows live mail. By Microsoft
The message is from the user account control. asking if i would like this program to make changes to this computer.

I have to accept the changes every time i want to open windows live mail.

I am able to click on a composed mail and then click on the photo attachment tab and send them that way. but it will not let me drag photos to it.If i do drag them i get no error message, just goes into the outbox and never sends. if i close the email i get a message saying that i have one out going message waiting to be sent and asking me if i want to send the message.

and when i try to send a link or a web page it does not paste as a link. i would have to highlight copy then paste to my browser.

Perhaps this will help with the UAC issue: How to: Start Windows Live Mail without UAC prompt | Matti's Space.

In IE8 are you saying the "Page" dropdowns for sending links or pages by email are greyed out? That could be a default programs setting.

If you're talking about getting a link in email to be "clickable" you may have to check two things: 1) Make sure your mail sending format is html (not plain text) and 2) add a space after the link (to tell WLM where the end of the link is).

For Photos you have 3 choices: 1) Photo Email, which doesn't attach the photo at all but includes a link to a server where the file is kept to be optionally downloaded by the recipient, 2) Insert File as Attachment, and 3) Insert Image inline (at the cursor position in the body). (I haven't tried drag and drop, but once again make sure your format is html and not plain text.)
