Windwos Live Mesh NEED HELP!!

I keep getting the error " Sorry, there is a problem with Windows Live Mesh servers. Try again in a few minutes." This has been going on for a couple weeks. I have found a possible resolution for this issue. But when I try to do this it tells me I can't save in this folder. contact the administrator for permission. I am the only user and administrator on this laptop. Are there setting I need to change first. What I have come across that has worked for most people with this issue is located in the following location. There is a local host file with all 0s that needs deleted. So I do this and try saving and run into the above issue. Please help!

%systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\

Sorry, there is a problem with the windows live mesh servers

I tried everything and this is the only thing that worked:

To fix this issue:

1. Click “Start”

2. Click “Run”

3. Paste this: %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\ now hit enter

4. Click file called “hosts” and open with “notepad”

5. put a # infront of any 0.0.0.0 this will disable the 0.0.0.0 and make it a comment instead of a command.

6. Now save the file.

7. If you cannot save the file you will have to "Take Ownership of the File". To do this you will need to load a program that gives you this option by right clicking. Go here - Add "Take Ownership" to Explorer Right-Click Menu in Win 7 or Vista - How-To Geek and run the program. Then click on the "host" file in step 4 and right click. Select "TakeOwnership". Now go back to notepad and save the changes.

That should do it. Nothing else worked for me.
