This was all I could find on this problem.
Start
Control Panel
Programs
Programs and Features
Windows Live Essentials
Click change/remove
It will then give you the option to pick which ''essentials" you want to remove. Ex:Messenger, Mail, Photo
Or Try this:
1/ Click the Start button
2/ When the Start menu opens look to the Right of the menu and you should see an option called 'Run'
3/ Click on Run to open the Run dialogue box
4/ In the Run dialogue box type: RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
5/ Next press the OK button
6/ If all goes well you will be asked to restart your computer. Click Yes to restart
7/ Hopefully Messenger should now be removed
Incidentally you might find it easier to 'copy and paste' the above command line into the Run dialogue box rather than typing it yourself.
Or you can try this third party Windows Live Messenger Uninstaller.
blog.eddsn.com » Windows Live Messenger Uninstaller v0.01
Or you can try the Windows Live Solution Center.
Windows Live Solution Center
Error: could not locate INF file 'C:\Windows\INF\msmsgf.inf'.
