Windows Logged on With Temporary Profile

I logged onto my account on my laptop, and when it loaded, a message came up saying "User logged on with temporary profile. Log in later to fix this problem." I couldn't access any of my files or folders, and it looked like a guest account. All the other accounts work. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary on my computer lately. I burned Ubuntu to my flash drive for my other computer using Live USB Install last night and then logged off. Someone else in my house logged onto their profile and when I logged onto mine a few minutes ago, I got that error message. I tried logging out and logging back in, and it didn't work. What should I do to fix this?

I just learned that I'm able to access all my files from a different account, so I don't think my profile was deleted.

No, you're account is not deleted. It's just that it's SID key in the registry may have been corrupted causing the user account not to show up in the log on screen.

I would recommend to backup anything that you do not want to lose first while in the other account to be safe. Afterwards, using the tutorial above should be able to fix this for you.

Given that this is the Guest account, I do not think that deleting the files, etc., is a prudent move. Guest is special and my reading suggests that it will not be recreated properly.
