Windows lost activation after system restore

Hi everyone,

I had activated my copy of windows 7 two days ago by simply entering the key I received for the copy I bought.

Everything was alright until I had to do a system restore to a restore point 4 days ago today.

Now my windows thinks its not validated anymore. However, I no longer have the option of entering the CD key in the system options where I should usually be able to. It is like my system reverted the fact that I activated my copy, but not the fact that it didn't need activation anymore (so that the option is not there anymore, but its also not activated...)

How can I fix this?
Thanks

What exactly is telling you that Win7 is not activated any more?

Type CMD in Start search box, rightclick result "Run as Admin" and type: slmgr -dlv for exact activation status.

If not activated, type: slmgr -ato to attempt activation.

If this fails, type: slmgr -upk to return activation back to trial state so key can be reinstalled.

I actually solved this issue.

I was never able to get back the option I was looking for, but windows itself eventually prompted me to activate my windows which I did.

It first told me my key wasn't genuine, but when going online to resolve the problem, it figured out that the already activated key (activated by myself before system restore) corresponded to my system. Windows is now correctly activated.
