Windows Media Centre has stopped working...again!

Hi all,

I am runing windows 7 on my shuttlebox connected to my tv to use as a media centre for my lounge.
All my media is on my NAS connected to my home network, as is my shuttle box.
When i load any content through windows media player it plays fine, both audio and video files etc.
When i load up media centre, it will play the my mp3's fine but when it goes to play a video file it closes and gives me 'windows media centre has stopped working and is restarting'.
The icons for the video files displays, but when i choose a video file i get this error.

I have tried several different movies and the same error, as said above, the files play fine in media player.

I have tried installing direct x, divx etc but still no joy.

Has anyone else come across this before and know a work around?

I'm half way there as i can play the content on my tv via media player but want the interface of media centre for ease of access with my remote etc.

Have you tried something else other than wmp?

no to be honest, i've only ran the videos through media player, which worked. But didn't work within mediacentre.

looks like it will be mediaportal or gbpvr instead then...
