Windows Media Player Crash

I have an ongoing problem with my Windows Media Player. It keeps crashing everytime I run it after I run any games I play. I don't think its something to do with wmp itself as it also happens with any media player I use. It might be something to do with my gpu or codec but I already reinstalled codecs, reinstalled windows media player, reinstalled my gpu drivers. I'm currently using Radeon HD7870, already tried to reinstall the gpu drivers and excluded other software included with it but my media player still crashes everytime I run it after I run any games I play. I need help on how to get this fixed, its been ongoing for a few months now. Thanks

Can you please try the following?

1.) Click :orb: type the following in the search. "Troubleshooting". Click Troubleshooting in the results. Now click programs in the window that appears. Under media player run the library troubleshooter. After that completes, run the settings troubleshooter.

After both those finish, Restart the PC. Now try to open windows media player.

Did that solve the issue?

Tried that but it couldn't finish running the troubleshoter because wmp.exe keeps running even after I end the task. Thanks to you though I noticed that it keeps running in the background regardless if I close it because of my rainmeter UI that runs wmp in the background. Thanks a lot.
