I have just clean installed Windows 7 Pro on a Dell laptop; everything went off without a hitch except for one very aggravating glitch --- everything is huge; desk-top icons, task-bar icons, text, even the clock.
Program windows far exceed the limits of the screen.
The Explorer folder tree covers half the screen width and the text is huge.
The task-bar is still visible and no part of it is obscured.
It is as if the machine were in Safe Mode, except it doesn't say "Safe Mode" in the corners and the background is blue and not black.
It has been restarted numerous times with no change to the situation.
msconfig shows nothing that should cause this.
I have looked and checked everywhere I can think of to see if some setting or other is causing this and have found no obvious (to me) reason.
What can I do ?
Thanks for reading and all help is appreciated.
