After migrating my Windows 7 64bit partition to my new SSD I have noticed that updates are being made to my old windows directory which is now the F drive. The migration was done a few months ago. I used easeus backup for the migration but something must have gone wrong.

I checked %windir% and %Systemroot% and both of these point to the F drive.

However, the program files directories is on the C drive. This was confirmed by checking the %programfiles% path.

How do I resolve this please?

Sometimes Windows is a bit too "intelligent" in keeping track of itself. The only read success I've had resulted from installing the C: drive first with no other drives attached then installing the OS. After that works with all the needed drivers installed I then attach the second HDD. It also lessens the chance of data files being inadvertently lost but better if the second drive is clean. There's still a chance the bootup will need a choice made as to which drive to use.

After migration you must disconnect the original drive before booting to the SSD. You can then reconnect it.
