Windows Office has been removed. Safe to ignore updates for Office?

Hi, I searched before asking this and it's probably a very simple answer. I have removed Windows Office from my laptop. Now using Open Office. Am I correct in thinking that it is safe to ignore all Windows Updates for any Office application? Plus, is it safe to remove any that were installed prior to my switch to OO. Although, I would think they went with Office when it was uninstalled.

Thanks for your help.

i think that's be ok if you ignore the updates because that's not effect to the open office.org
