Having trouble with Windows Photo Gallery. When i go to Edit a picture and his save it disappears. then when i try to copy another one it asks me if i want to get rid of the 1st one. Why is this and how do i fix it

When you save it, ensure you know where its being saved.

This rule applies to all files regarding copying.....

If you try to save a file and use the SAME file name as the one already saved in your computer, you will be prompted with the same question.
The system needs to know what to do with the one already saved in the computer.

Use a different file name.
