Windows Photo viewer now opens with one click... shouldn't

have not installed any new software or updates

windows photo viewer has begun opening when I click a thumbnail picture to enlarge in "preview".... in my "pictures" folder window...

I do a lot with pictures, having close the viewer again and again...and again... is really annoying me

settings all show "double click" everywhere I can find...

When the mouse starts behaving as if you double clicked when you only single clicked, it usually means the bit of plastic under the button has worn down, meaning the mouse needs replacing.

Try testing this to see if it happens on other types of files.

no, only office or windows programs...
yesterday using office "Publisher" I noticed each time I tried to preposition a picture or a text box, it opened the "My Pictures" or "Format text box" as if I had double clicked but... did not do this with my other graphics program....

good to know that about the mouse...
