Windows scam thread

This is for information only.
My wife received a call last night from someone with an Indian
accent. He claimed to be from Microsoft and told her our
computer contained a virus. She had the smarts to hang up
on the S.O.B. But what about others out there that are totally
oblivious to the dirty tricks these guys pull.

Yeah these calls have become quite common these days but they are kinda easy to catch if you know what you are doing.

I came close to selling one some future shares in cow dung...

I get emails telling me my photo on facebook was liked... I don't have a facebook account.

I had the same thing going on i remember i gave the man the run around for hours i even let him play on a machine that we don't even use because i know he was full of it in the end i just wiped the HD and re installed

They kept calling but after the first 2 times i got tired and every time they called i picked up and started screaming scammers and cheaters to them and i am calling the cops i also reported the phone call let's say they stopped and doubtful they will call again

Hmm I had this once, I just asked him which computer.

Kept him on the phone for about an hour just trying to figure out which computer he wanted. One thing I regret is that i didn't call my Phone company on my other line. Should've had them grab the number and block it.
