Well - I've finally managed to find the error sequence, at least!
Code:
	Line 16816: 2015-09-03	18:44:19:068	1004	25c	Handler	FATAL: CBS called Error with 0x80073701,
	Line 16817: 2015-09-03	18:44:19:068	1004	e88	Handler	FATAL: UH: 0x80073701: Async stage operation failed in CUHCbsHandler::StageCbsPackage
Line 16818: 2015-09-03	18:44:19:076	1004	e88	Handler	FATAL: Request generation for CBS update complete with hr=0x80073701 and pfResetSandbox=0
	Line 16819: 2015-09-03	18:44:19:076	1004	e88	Handler	FATAL: Error source is 106.

This seems to be the result of a permissions problem somewhere - I suspect the registry.

Perhaps looking at the event logs will help us...
Please open Event Viewer
In the left pane, navigate to the Windows Logs
right-click on Applications and select 'Save all events as...' save as Apps.evtx
repeat for the System logs - save as Sys.evtx
Compress both files, and attach to your reply

For some reason, the system cannot create Restore Points - this is often caused by faulty USB 'booster' programs - especially those from AsRock and ASUS.
Please check your Installed Programs listing and see if any of these (or similar-sounding) programs are listed...

XFast USB
USB 3.0 Boost

Also - fi you don't have any of the above type programs installed...

From the system logs you appear to be experiencing some serious problems from the HAL - please check and see if there is a BIOS update available for your machine available from the manufacturer's website.

You appear to have Avira installed currently - it may be worth uninstalling it for the moment and replacing it with MSE.
If you decide to do this you will need to also run the Avira cleanup tool... Instructions for manual uninstallation before installing MSE.

That should be enough to be going on with ! :)

I did indeed have XFast USB on my computer, so I've uninstalled that. :)

I've updated the BIOS to the latest version.
(I've attached the event logs again, in case you want to see which of the problems are solved.)

I've also uninstalled Avira, with the CleanUp tool.

I still can't install those 4 updates though.

Please post the CBS folder again - I really only need the CBS.log file and the latest 2 CBSPersist files.

Yeah, that was kind of anticlimactic ;)

I had to extract those CBSPersist files, and then zip them again, because .cab extension wasn't allowed.
I hope I got the right thing :p

These appear to be highly specific to these updates.
It looks like I'll have to try and work out the proper fix for each in turn...

Back later.

I've uninstalled Internet Explorer 11, but there's also an "Internet Explorer 11 nl" (for Dutch, same installation date). Should I uninstall this one as well?

KB2670838 is installed!

Also, 3 'new' updates were available before installing that one:
-Internet explorer 11 (of course, since uninstalled that one).
-Definition update for MSE (published today)
-KB3078071 (published about a month ago, so this was a bit of a surprise)

I'm awaiting further instructions before trying to install anything else. :)

The KB3078071 is actually an update for the installed IE9 -
Success Content Install Installation Ready: The following updates are downloaded and ready for installation. This computer is currently scheduled to install these updates on ‎dinsdag ‎8 ‎september ‎2015 at 3:00: - KB3078071: Cumulatieve beveiligingsupdate voor Internet Explorer 9 voor Windows 7 voor x64-systemen
You can install that one if you like! ;)

Please don't install IE11 again yet.

Now we need to try the other three failing updates again, and post the CBS.log and latest CBSPersist cab file afterwards.

Please attempt them in this order...
