I keep getting this code when I attempt to search for new updates see attached. I downloaded the SURT and it installed Hotfix for Windows (KB947821) Successfully. A tech with microsoft had me run the stand alone updater and everytime Windows tries to install the updates most all of them fail. See attached screen shot. I ran the SFC/scannow and it did not find any integrity violations. The compressed CBS file (22.5 MB) exceeded the Max FIlesize of 8 MB so I was unable to attach to this post.

Please let me know what to try next.

I broke the CBS file into three files but the zipped cbs log still excedes the allowed file size. I also only zipped the most recent CBS Persist file. WHen I shut down my PC it says it is installing 144 updates but then fails to configure them and reverts.

Let me know if you require further information.

I've uploaded a file - evxaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder evxaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be one folder inside it (Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages


Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

I do not have the following C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages there is though C:\Windows\CheckSur\v1.0 containong several WinRar archive files

ran checksur again and now have the folder am coping the files and will run checksur again and post logs

Open this folder - there should be one folder inside it (Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages


Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

On the assumption I got it right this time, please then run a new SFC /SCANNOW and post the new CBS.log file - I'll take a look tomorrow.

Great - with any luck Windows Update will now work - do a new Check for Updates, then attempt only to installteh oldest found update.
What happens? If it fails, post the error code resulting.
If it installs OK, go back and install the rest.

On the off chance that the files were missing data due to the fact I have a satellite connection I tried to install again, all are now installed except for the IE update. See attached screenshot, I typically use chrome so checked what version IE is on my system .. IE8 so not sure if that is the problem ie I need to update IE for update to work.

The error you're getting is from an attempt to install IE11 -
I'd try installing IE 9 first and see if that kicks things - you can download the installer from here...

Download Internet Explorer 9 from Official Microsoft Download Center
If that works, then go back to Windows Update and install all the updates for IE 9 before attempting to install either IE10 or IE11
