Solved Windows Update: Keeps checking for updates for over 1.5 hours?

No problem
Yea my 32 bit dual core had the longest wait about an hour searching and installing
My other 2 quad and 6 core mowed right through it.
All I do know is all machines now have Net framework 4.5.2 now

I guess see you in a month I assume I will find the info here next month too.

Come to think of it, there should be a pinned topic with just the info which update to install manually each month.

I just turn on my PC and did not make the automatic update like every day. I did a manual search after half an hour and found nothing.

I had to install KB3161664, I search and in less than a minute I detected nine updates.

It really looks increasingly desperate for change to Microsoft Windows 10.

KB3161664 worked for me, also.

It took about 2h to search but it ended successfully! Last night it searched for 10 hours without success.

Make sure you turn off updates and stop wuauserv, then download update from MS site, install and restart.

Finally got mine done. About 5 or 6 hours to actually find them. Then about 5 hours stuck on downloading 0% but then suddenly sprung to life, once they started downloading it was all fairly rapid. Thankful that's over, at least until next months saga!!!
