I recently learned about the WIndows Update that people are saying thatshould be uninstalled.
This was KB3004394

I found this listed in the Windows UPdate history (Control Panel0>Windows Update)
And it is listed as having been installed successfully

However, when I go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features-> View Updates
and look under "Microsoft WIndows, the update isn't listed there. nor are many others.
This is the only place I can see that I can uninstall it however.

I suspect this MIGHT be the culprit to why i'm having freezes. It may just be that my usb ports are failing or something and the opsys might not be freezing.

I do notice too that there was another update installed on the 12th. KB3014777 I think) that is said to fix the previous update. But I'm not entirely confident in that.

Try to System Restore to a date before the update was delivered, then set Updates to manual until you see it delivered again and can hide it. It may also have been pulled by MS.

Compare the install you have with the perfect Win7 install compiled in Clean Reinstall Windows 7.
The Factory Install is the worst possible install one can have, so I'd strongly consider doing that one great install now which you can preserve with an image.

NOT NECESSARY!
Update KB3024777 has probably been installed by now - which is specifically to uninstall KB3004394.
after the update is installed NEITHER will appear in the list of installed updates - but should appear in the Update History
If it doesn't appear in either the Update History or the Installed Updates, then it was never installed, and won't be installed unless MS re-release it (but I suspect that they will release a new KB number for that).

That's weird. Why would an update NOT be there?
And I thought one of the problems with 4394 was that t prevented future autoupdates?

Never believe everything you see on the internet!
MS released 24777 as soon as they realised the problems that 934 was causing - but it's not a perfect solution (so I've been overloaded for the past 10 days!)

ANY update which has been uninstalled will NOT appear in the Installed Updates list - that's one of its purposes, after all.
24777 was designed to leave no trace - because it's NOT an installer - it's an UNinstaller.

I find it very disturbing that the people the quality that MS employs have the ability to remove things from my computer :/

If we had ever seen a single case where MS acted in an untrustworthy manner then you'd likely hear about it here first at the home of Windows 7, where we were highly critical of Windows 8 resulting after years in a more worthy successor to Windows 7 in Windows 10. Yet I cannot think of a single case where they have acted in an untrustworthy manner. The efforts to push Bing are more eye-rollers than intrusive.

Yet Google has completely betrayed their supposed slogan to "Do no evil" as every Google program (or even staying signed into their websites including YouTube) is pernicious spyware that follows you everywhere you go with interest ads. Consumer Opt-out | NAI: Network Advertising Initiative

KB3024777 was released in exactly the same way as any other update.
