Windows Update not able to find important updates 0x80190194

Im not able to find any windows important windows updates it gives me this code 0x80190194 and system cannot determine vulome of drive just before the welcome screen for my password please help.

Are you saying that you are unable to actually load Windows to your profile?
What happens if you attempt to boot to either Safe Mode, or Last Known Good Configuration?

I am able to load windows but i camnot able to boot important windows updantes because of that following error eveything else works but i am unable to unstall jully 2014 windows updates including IE 11.0.10 or any windows update that ois for windows but i can install office updates.

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data
If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)


Please also post the C:\Windows\Windowsupdate.log file

I Have searched of this about error it is just a 404 not found error kind of error the automatic update service had lost the contact with the Microsoft site so this problem occur if and I consul if you are using pirated software this problem comes.

other wise there are big hot shot on this forum just keep in touch with them ,sorry for any wrong thing I say and find the solution

It's now clean.

The problem appears to be caused by a problem with an earlier update - the system thinks that there is a reboot pending to complete some actions.

Please upload the following files and folders (if you find them)

C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml
C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml.(string of numbers)
C:\Windows\winsxs\PendingDeletes
C:\Windows\winsxs\PendingRenames

I'll keep looking for more errors in the meantime

The only one out out of those three i got was the pending.xml(regestry) and a reboot file and a poqexec text and the rest where folders, hopes this helps. winsxs.zip

Here are some instructions to make life easier
1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

One time i did turn the power button when windows updates froze with windows explorer after about waiting 5 minutes and clicking to unfreeze that might have cause the problem for not finding important updates.

The trick is knowing how best to deal with it.
There are a number of possibilities - which we'll have to work through one by one.


Please reboot, then open an Elevated Command Prompt and run the following commands...

cd /d %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine
attrib -s -h *
del *.blf
del *.regtrans-ms

close the window, and reboot again.
Wait 10 minutes or so (while the registry rebuilds the files)

then run the following commands again

REG LOAD HKLM\COMPONENTS C:\Windows\System32\Config\COMPONENTS
REG QUERY HKLM\COMPONENTS


post the new results, then run WU, do a Check for Updates, and attempt to install ONLY the oldest update found.

Interesting - is this a new error?


Open Event Viewer
click on the Windows logs entry in the left pane to expand it.
Now click on the Application entry - wait while it loads.
Click on 'File' in the menu bar and select Save...
Save the file as Appevt.evtx
Repeat for the System log
then zip both, and upload them.
