Hi all, after a lengthy fix following this

I finally get the updated most of the patches. With only 13 left. After some rearch here I believe I might have to replace some of the files but I do not have a Win7 installation CD. Is there a way for me to fix this? Thank you. CheckSUR log as attached below

I've uploaded a file - vfeab.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder vfeab in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

And the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

I've uploaded a file - vfead.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder vfead in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be one folder inside it (Manifests)

Copy the content of the Manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Great - before attempting updates, run an SFC /SCANNOW and see what that reports.
If it's all clear, go ahead with WU.
If not, post the new CBS.log and we'll take a look.

I actually went ahead doing the update before your reply hahaha. I did sfc /scannow check after the update and file system is good. With several restarts and updates I now have one important update left, it is a rather old one, I suppose I should just ignore it and hide it?

That update is one of the ones we replaced files for - does it show in the Installed Updates listing?
It may be worth uninstalling and reinstalling it.

Hmmm - it should be OK to leave it, and hide it from WU.

You could perhaps force a removal using the following command..
wusa /uninstall /kb:2992611


but since it's a superceded update anyhow, so long as update KB3018238 is installed properly it should be fine...
check your Installed Updates and see

Just checked, I don't have kb3018238 installed. And I am having 5 old important updates pop up, I will try installing them and report here.

Not sure if any of them are superseded and if I have the newer version installed :S
