Windows Update says service isn't running (When it is)

Hello

I've been unable to run windows update due to an error that says
"Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You may need to restart your computer"

I've check the Windows update service and its states that its running.

I have also followed instructions form this thread. (This was before i read not to follow post in other threads.)

I've downloaded and ran the System Update Readiness Tool and when attemptting to install
It also pops up an error.

"Installer encountered an error: 0xc800247"

I've ran sfc /scannow the these are the results.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

Help please. :cry:

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

Ignore errors produced when clicking on the Copy button - they simply mean that the tool could not create the backup files for some reason. The data is still copied to the clipboard for pasting to your response.

After rebooting twice, I'm no longer getting any error but windows update seems to be stuck on checking for updates.

Edit 2 Nvm its working just took a long time. Thank very much everyone for the help
