Solved Windows Update

Does Windows Update update all Microsoft products on one's computer? I see what it says near "You receive updates," but to clarify, what gets updated, and what doesn't? Thanks.

Where can I view "optional updates"? In fact, are updates customizable beyond the attached screen? Thanks.

Windows Update will only update Windows. However, you have chosen Microsoft Update. Good decision. This is where it needs to be. You will receive updates for all Microsoft products, including Microsoft Security Essentials, Microsoft Office, etc. etc. You will receive all of these updates.

As previously mentioned, some will appear as optional. But not all. Don't worry, optionals will appear by themselves. It will say "1 Important Update, 3 Optional Updates" When you click on these words, you get taken to a new window, where you can select which ones to install. Optional and Important will appear as separate tabs, but it will be very obvious. Don't panic! You will know as soon as you have any optional updates, and you will receive updates for all Microsoft Updates. You are perfect. I shall upload a screenshot in a few seconds.
