windows updates

My computer used to come up super fast, now every day it comes up with this "installing updates" and takes about 10, or 15 minutes to come up. It just started doing this last week. Does anyone know what I can do about this?

last night i shutdown the laptop and it installed 25 updates ,(the laptop is very new!)
this morning i shutdown laptop again and it installed 18 .
I'm not sure if it was reinstalling some that were unsuccessful as i didn't check, i will later.

Something to try but not sure if it will help.

Start menu> search bar type update and you will see Windows update in the list.
Click it. Top left of new window click View Update History.

You will see a list like in the left picture below. Check the list between the yellow lines Successful should be on all of them.

Click "Trouble shoot problems with installing updates." Yellow marked in the top of left picture.

Click "Is there an easy way" (Blue ink circle in 2nd picture right)

Click "Click to open the Win Update Troubleshooter"

Then follow the prompts in the wizard style troubleshooter.

When I get numerous updates I usually download 5-6 at a time and seems to work for me without any problems.
More than than that is where I have run into unsuccessful downloading errors. IMHO

Great glad it worked.

I thought it might go ahead and install or reinstall/redownload the bad one. Probably one of them had a corrupt packet during download. Not infected just one small loss of part of a file.

I get lost the first time doing something without pictures. Not always but often enough.
I figure others do also.
